  • Notes  Married:
    • John (Dutchy) Doherty was driving the wedding party out of town with a grey team of horses owned by Little Barney Doherty. Attendants were Pat McDevitt and Nora Doherty (Blackhorse). They stopped on the Northern Pacific railroad track as the train came along. A cowboy put a rope on the horses to try and get them to move. The train snuffed, puffed and blew off steam but the horses didn't move. People brought their chairs out on their porches to watch. The spectators got cold and had to put their sweaters on. They finally got the horses to move and drove to Middle Ranch (Pat Doherty's place) where they had a dance in the barn.
