      Also 4th Battallion, Lancaster Co. Militia.

      BURIED: OLD UNION CEMETERY, PHILLIPSBURG, CLEARFIELD, PA
      Served in the revolutionary War with 6 of his brothers.

      According to Bob Gearhart, Trenton, Michigan, in 1840, John Frederick went hunting and never returned.

      John Gearhart, emigrated from Germany about the middle of the seventeenth (sic) century. He served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War, afterward settled at Buffalo Run, Centre Co., Pa. He married Miss Catharine Gray, who lived to the age of 97 (sic) years . To John and Catharine were born 10 children, whose names were as follows, - Jasob, John. Adam, Christ, Elias, Peter, Susanna, Eve, Betsey and Catharine. These have all died long age.
      (had to have meant Eighteenth centry as John was born 1754)
      (her birth in 1767 or 1769 and death in 1848 make her about 80 years old)
